1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Bloom’s public website, authenticated application, job-matching and application tools, Bloom-provided mailbox, and related support and communications (together, the “Service”). It does not govern an employer, applicant tracking system, payment processor, or other third party’s independent handling of your information.
By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not provide information to or use the Service.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and profile information, such as your name, email address, location, work authorization, contact details, and account preferences.
- Career information, including resumes, work history, education, skills, desired roles, compensation preferences, portfolio links, screening answers, and other details you choose to add.
- Application activity, including jobs you view, save, pass, review, approve, or submit; tailored materials; answers; delivery status; and application history.
- Communications, including messages sent through a Bloom-provided mailbox, employer replies received there, and messages you send to support.
- Billing information. Our payment processor handles payment-card details. Bloom receives transaction, subscription, invoice, refund, and limited payment-method information needed to manage your plan.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, we may receive device and browser details, IP address, timestamps, referring pages, feature interactions, session and authentication events, error logs, and security signals. We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, fraud prevention, preferences, and—where enabled—service analytics.
Information from partners and public sources
We receive job listings and related employer information from authorized job-board or applicant-tracking-system partners. We may also receive delivery events, application status, and employer communications associated with an application. Job information can change or be removed by its source.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and secure your account, provide customer support, and communicate about the Service;
- build and update your career profile and preferences;
- find, rank, and explain potential job matches;
- prepare truthful resumes, cover letters, screening responses, and application drafts for your review;
- submit an application after your approval and maintain a record of what was sent;
- receive and organize employer communications in your Bloom mailbox;
- process subscriptions, credits, cancellations, refunds, and related records;
- prevent abuse, investigate errors, protect users and the Service, and comply with law; and
- measure and improve reliability, accessibility, and product performance.
Where a law requires a legal basis, we rely as appropriate on performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Service, your consent, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. AI and automated processing
Bloom uses automated systems, including AI models, to parse career information, compare it with job requirements, explain matches, and draft application materials. These systems can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing job details and all application content before approving a submission.
We may send relevant portions of your profile, resume, job posting, and instructions to service providers that process data for us. We design the Service to use your actual experience rather than invent credentials. Bloom does not make an employer’s hiring decision and does not guarantee a match, interview, offer, or response.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service, maintain an accurate application history, protect the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Retention varies by record type and context.
You may request account deletion from the Service’s privacy controls or by contacting us. We will begin deleting or de-identifying account data from active systems, including connected provider resources, subject to technical completion and permitted legal exceptions. Limited records may remain in backups until their ordinary rotation, and we may retain transaction, security, consent, or deletion-verification records where required or reasonably necessary. Short-lived provider identifiers may be retained to complete and verify deletion; they are not used to recreate your account.
Incomplete pre-account onboarding information is designed to expire after a limited period. Deleting your Bloom account does not automatically delete an application already received and independently controlled by an employer or its hiring system; contact that organization for its records.
7. Your choices and rights
You can review and update many profile, preference, notification, and account details in the Service. You can also cancel a subscription through the available billing controls and unsubscribe from non-essential marketing messages using the link in the message.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection; to withdraw consent; or to appeal a decision concerning a request. You may also have the right to complain to a local data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where local law permits, subject to verification of authority.
To exercise a privacy right, email hello@bloomcareers.ai. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right provided by law.
8. Security, transfers, and age limits
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information, including access controls, private storage, tenant-level authorization rules, rate limits, security checks, malware scanning for supported uploads, and monitoring. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. Learn more in our Security Overview.
Bloom and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms and contractual protections. The Service is intended for people who are at least 18 years old and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service or law changes. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information, we will provide additional notice when required.
